Cain, has been diagnosed with Metastatic Alveolar Soft Part Sarcoma (ASPS), an ultra-rare and aggressive form of cancer. ASPS makes up just 0.2% of all sarcomas, which are already only 1% of all cancers. The tumour began in Cain’s leg and has spread into his bone and lungs.
Because of how rare this cancer is, there’s no established treatment plan. Chemotherapy and radiation are largely ineffective, and while some immunotherapy drugs have shown real promise in shrinking the cancer and prolonging life, they aren’t covered by the PBS — meaning Cain has to pay for them out of pocket, until proof that this medications will work.
Funds raised will go directly toward those treatments, as well as travel for specialist appointments, and support while Cain is unable to work. He’s only 29. He and…
